All of it around one stallion and one market I know from the inside.

01
The horse and the locationI give you the horse and put the whole shoot together — all you do is come.
For the first half hour in a new place a stallion looks around, not into the camera. So the shoot starts with him settling, not with frames.
The horse, the location and the crew are mine. You arrive to a shoot that is already standing.

02
A team of professional ridersYou have bought a young horse that has never been ridden — I will get it going under saddle. I do not start it myself: the work is done by a team I have ridden with for years.
A professional rider works someone else’s horse in hand and under saddle: starts it, trains it, prepares it for you, for competition or for sale. That is not an instructor — an instructor teaches the person.
I run the process and I answer for the horse, but the one in the saddle is the rider. I name the timeline only after I have seen the horse.

03
Spain and GermanyDirect contact with the stud farms, papers checked, the deal and the transport carried through.
In Spain I deal with the stud farms directly and check everything in the LG PRE ANCCE studbook: the database is open, and the UELN gives you the pedigree and the indices.
Germany is another market with other studbooks — sport breeds with their own grading systems. What you verify there is not the same, and the horse is chosen for the sport rather than for breed type.
